IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE

IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE

"Love, a word that comes and goes, but few people really know what it means to really love somebody." - Kirk Franklin

When we think about the notion of LOVE, its easy to get caught up in the fairytale ideal of what LOVE means and lose perspective on what GOD ultimately intended when it comes to how we relate to others - be it our family, friends, or the people we happen to pass by along our life’s journey.

The truth of LOVE is that it is unconditional. LOVE transcends expression and the LOVE notes one might receive on a very special day. LOVE can only be appropriately defined if one regards it as being something that is unmovable. True LOVE is not defined by how well someone treats you. We all know it is easy to LOVE a loveable person. However, we all have moments when we are less than loveable. Nevertheless, we all need to receive unconditional grace that means that we can be met with LOVE, even when we are deemed to be undeserving (which is NOT ever true). Note: you don't earn LOVE - that notion contradicts the concept of LOVE altogether.

The call to LOVE our neighbor as ourselves is one about loving another without regard to for the favorable or unfavorable conditions and rather showing the other the very love we all will need shown to us.

Show love to another, not because of what they do, but because they are an extension of you. We are one. LOVE them because you too want and need LOVE without compromise. Choose to LOVE another as yourself and you will find the very LOVE you need becomes a reciprocal exchange facilitated by the Almighty from the heavenly realms.

LOVE, ELLE B.
